Grind or Remove a Stump?
While tree stumps may be turned into something beautiful, for many tree owners a stump represents an unsightly distraction in a well-maintained landscape. Not only is a stump an eyesore to a landscape aesthetic, it becomes home to pests. Allow us at Robin’s Tree Service to remove the stump for you and free your time for more interesting projects.
Removing stump is a formidable and a dangerous job for a home or business owner to do. This is the reason why you see stumps cut years ago sitting on yards. We can remove the stump for you through our experienced and licensed professionals who operate our grinding equipment efficiently and safely. Your safety is our utmost concern and we know that stump grinding is an intricate process, which takes into consideration the root system, the tree species, age, and the location of the stump.
Stump Grinding Columbia MO
There are two ways to eliminate the stump from your property: one is to remove the stump including the roots, and the other is to ground it below ground level and cover the hole left with soil and grass. Stump removal is less harmful to your landscape, while stump grinding could be messy brought about by the debris and dust. Our team, however, makes sure that when the job of stump grinding is complete, they make a thorough clean up of the work area, leaving no trace of the work done.
On the agreed schedule, our team will arrive giving a guaranteed two-hour window. The work starts after preparing the equipment and the crew. The stump is then cut with a chainsaw until it is close to the ground. The purpose of cutting is to reduce the amount of material to ground. Our Morbark grinder, which is guaranteed to be of high quality, is placed over the reduced stump and the blades lowered into the wood. The blades will work back and forth across the stump’s whole area. The grinding continues until the stump is approximately 3 to 6 inches below the surface. The dirt, dust, and wood chips are then removed, and grass seed or sod are planted to restore the area.
The length of time needed to work on the stump would depend on the size of the stump and the tree species. Usually the grinding takes from 30 to 90 minutes.
Please note that stump grinding, by necessity, uses heavy equipment. At Robin’s Tree Service we use the Morbark grinders, which have a minimum negative impact on the landscape. In a matter of a few days, you will see no sign of the work done on your landscape. If you happen to have more stumps on your property that needs to be removed or ground, you can avail of our multi-stump discount and call us today.
